Twenty five years after her debut album Logozo hit number one on Billboard’s World Music Chart, the Grammy Award-winning Angélique Kidjo remains one of the world’s most engaging and adventurous singer-songwriters. The repertoire for her recent orchestral collaborations includes the three-movement Ifé, written for her by Philip Glass, as well as Gershwin’s Summertime and several original pieces written by Angélique with Jean Hebrail. The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra is proud to join Angélique for the Australian premiere of this wonderful orchestral program. Featuring guest conductor Gast Waltzing of the Orchestre Philharmonique Du Luxembourg and guest guitarist David Laborier, this Australian exclusive performance promises to be a dazzling union.
