WOMADelaide Presents: The Best New Music in February

We're now almost two full months into the new year and WOMADelaide 2019 is just a few sleeps away. The festival couldn't come at a better moment, with a bunch of new releases coming out just in time to learn the lyrics. We've compiled all of the best new music from our WOMADelaide crew and what you have to listen to before March 8.
Julia Jacklin - Crushing

We've been waiting patiently for the release of Julia Jacklin's second studio album, ever since Don't Let the Kids Win dropped in late 2016. It's safe to say the Blue Mountains singer is still Crushing it, with the singles more than living up to the hype. The autobiographical nature of the album is what makes it so affecting, covering a lot of emotional ground from heatbreak, frustration and at times resignation.
Adrian Eagle - A.O.K

Adelaide's own Adrian Eagle has hit us with a new track just before his Sunday night set at WOMADelaide 2019. A vibrant slice of street gospel, classic rap drums and his stirring trademark vocals, A.O.K speaks of conquering your demons and being kind to self and others.
Dona Onete - Flor da Lua (Live)

Some artists come alive most when they're on the stage. Dona Onete is one of them and her latest live album Flor da Lua totally encapsulates the party sound that comes from her energetic vocals and high energy band. If you haven't yet listened to the Grande Dame of Amazonian Song this is your perfect opportunity to get ready for her two shows at WOMADelaide 2019.
Fatoumata Diawara - Fenfo (Something to Say)

Having just shredded her way onto screens across the world during the 2019 Grammy's, Fatoumata Diawara has just released her Best World Music nominated album Fenfo in Australia and it was worth the wait. Starting with single Nterini, the album has accumulated many accolades including World Album of the Month from The Guardian.
Amaru Tribe - Luchando
SAT 3:00pm
2019 is shaping up to be a big year for Amaru Tribe with two brand new tunes out in the world, following up their 2017 self-titled album. Luchando speaks about fighting for the rights of the earth, nature and the people who have given their lives for the future of our planet. WOMADelaide is one of the first places you can hear the new single, which features QVLN and La Mojarra Electrica.
