The South Australian music community celebrated AusMusic Month in style last night at the 2021 South Australian Music (SAM) Awards gala event.

WOMADelaide won Best Major Festival / Event (Presented by MOSHTIX) for our 2021 COVID-adapted Sunset Concert Series, as well as winning Best Innovation (Presented by CityMag) for our recent collaboration with Northern Sound System, the WOMADelaide X NSS Academy - a training & development program for emerging SA First Nations and multicultural artists.

Renowned producer and 2022 WOMAD artist Motez won two awards for Best Solo Artist (Presented by Media Arts Lawyers) and the People's Choice Award for Electronic (Presented by Fat Controller).

Other winners included 2021 WOMADelaide artists Siberian Tiger, who won the People's Choice Award for Folk (Presented by the Wheatsheaf Hotel). WOMADelaide presented the Best New Artist award to pop-punk duo Teenage Joans who set a new SAM Awards record for the most awards won by a single artist in the same year.
