- A.B. Original
A.B. Original are quite possibly the most powerful, political and controversial Indigenous musical voice heard yet in Australia. The collaboration between Briggs (Adam Briggs, a Yorta Yorta man and Album of the Year recipient at the National Indigenous Music Awards 2015) and Trials (Dan Rankine, a Ngarrindjeri man and ARIA Award-winning producer for Drapht, Illy, Hilltop Hoods, Seth Sentry, The Funkoars and others) took flight in January 2015. Since then A.B. Original have turned Australian hip-hop on its head with their catchy hooks and hard-hitting lyrics, rattling more than a few cages along the way. Their debut album, Reclaim Australia, reached number ten on the ARIA Charts and number one on the iTunes charts in its first week of release. Their provocative track January 26 hit an impressive #16 on triple j’s Hottest 100 poll of the best songs of 2016, alongside their hip-hop homage to Paul Kelly’s Dumb Things which was placed at #45.
Parental Advisory - strong content and coarse language.
