Genevieve Bell is one of the world’s leading technologists. A former South Australian Thinker in residence, she is currently Professor and Director of the 3A Institute at the Australian National University, where she also holds a research appointment at Data61. She is the inaugural appointee to the Florence Violet McKenzie Chair at the ANU and Vice President and Senior Fellow at Intel Corporation, where she most recently served as chief futurist.

Professor Bell has completed her PhD in cultural anthropology at Stanford University in 1998 and has since pioneered futurist research looking at how different cultures use technology, and helped guide Intel’s product development by developing the company’s social science and design research capabilities.
