Two master musicians combine for an intense exploration of traditional southern Italian rhythms. Alfio Antico, a master of the tammorra and frame drum, has radically transformed the use of these instruments, enriching them with unprecedented timbres and a unique phrasing that amplifies their expressive power. Alongside him will be Giulio Fonseca, alias Go Dugong, a producer born in Puglia and based in Milan, who is known for his ability to reinterpret folk music by fusing it with electronic and psychedelic elements. Together they expand and rewrite folk music: Antico’s drum provides a primordial rhythm, while Go Dugong’s electronic overlays enhance and reveal new depths in the music. Both are highly acclaimed as individual artists, but together they recorded the 2025 album La Macchia.
