This husband and wife musical duo are dedicated nadaswaram players, who have both played the double-reed wind instrument from a young age. From the age of 10, Thiruvannamalai Nadaswaram Balaganesan had the privilege of training under the renowned Vidwan MPN Ponnusamy Pillai in Madurai, while Thiruvannamalai Nadaswaram P. Bageswari Balaganesan began learning the instrument at the age of seven under the guidance of her father and guru, Shri PVN Devaraj of Chennai. Together, the duo serves as Asthana Vidwans (senior artists) at the revered Sri Ramanasramam ashram. In addition to performing, Bageswari is passionate about nurturing the next generation of musicians and teaching young girls the art of nadaswaram playing. Both highly accomplished artists, they will be accompanied by Thavil Vidwan Purushothaman on the thavil, a barrel-shaped percussion instrument from Tamil Nadu.
