Founded in 2008 by Jack Kanya Kudnuitya Buckskin, a proud Kaurna and Narungga Man, Kuma Kaaru has grown into a community of 12 staff, passionate about sharing their incredible culture. Kuma Kaaru aims to educate and teach Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal People of the local language and culture to showcase the diversity of Aboriginal nations – working with a range of organisations such as SA Music Awards, the Sydney Swans and local schools.
Kuma Kaaru has performed locally and internationally, in places such as Samoa, India, Vienna, Canada, France, USA, Malaysia, China and Nauru. At WOMADelaide, Jack will be joined on stage by his daughter, Mahleaha.
