Describing himself as “a dance artist with a background in sheep shearing and a foreground in contemporary dance theatre”, Lewis Major didn’t set foot in a theatre until his teens. But he has since worked with some of the biggest names in international contemporary dance including Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Russell Maliphant, Hofesh Shechter and Aakash Odedra. His company, Lewis Major Projects, is based in South Australia, where Major grew up on a sheep farm. Triptych Redux is a reworking of his earlier work Triptych, which the Edinburgh Festival described as “life-changingly beautiful”. A multiple-award-winning artist, he has created 17 different works both independently and on-commission and has presented them on six continents to widespread critical and commercial success.

Lewis Major Projects are performing in WOMADelaide's The Studio, which is located on the ground floor – adjacent the Frome Park Pavilion – under the Upper Plaza where the Taste The World sessions are presented. Supporting the WOMADelaide Front of House team, ABHS students are on site to direct patrons into the space and for Taste the World on the Upper Plaza, ushering them to seating as required.

Things to note: 

The Studio as a theatre space is somewhat different to the open space of the park, so there are a few things to be aware of. As a theatre space, the artists/productions are presented with a format having a defined start and end time of each performance, so we ask that patrons please note the following: 

• As capacity is limited, please arrive 10 minutes before performances begin to avoid disturbing the performance and other patrons. Latecomers cannot be admitted.
• When making your way to seating, take direction from the Front of House team who are there to usher you to your seat/place to sit.
• Take note of performance durations before entering as some may have a lock out/in, with latecomers unable to be admitted.
• Wheelchair accessible seating is available.
