Major Works
Epic in scale. Breathtaking in execution.
WOMADelaide’s Major Works anchor the festival with colossal, world-class artistic spectacles that push the absolute limits of imagination. From massive structures that redefine the skyline to open-air theater that takes over the night sky, these works disrupt the everyday, alter perspectives, and unite tens of thousands of people in shared moments of absolute wonder.
In recent years donations have enabled the presentation of works that have left an impression on audiences long after the gates have closed.

"Each evening, Gratte Ciel dominated the festival and left witnesses with a sense of wonder that only the best art can provoke. Place des Anges managed to capture so much of the ineffable wonder of what it means to be alive ... The memory of that extraordinary spectacle will live on."
