Title: Volunteers Coordinator
Commencement Date: November 2026
Term: 4.5 months
Reporting to: Di Farrell, Administrator
WOMADelaide’s Volunteer Program is facilitated by the Volunteers Coordinators alongside other festival employees who have the responsibility to liaise with and/or supervise in their relevant areas. This includes Production, Site, Programming, Ticketing/Box Office, KidZone, Marketing, and Bar. In addition, Volunteer Supervisors (6 Roving, and 2 each in VHQ and Info Booth) will be employed throughout the festival and act as direct points of contact/front line managers for their respective areas.
- Sourcing, training and overseeing up to approx. 600 volunteers for the festival, as well as pre-festival volunteers. This includes the preparation and issuing of rosters, role descriptions, accreditation and t-shirts, induction and at least 2 major briefings (including Workplace Health & Safety).
- Liaising extensively with other WOMADelaide staff (including Production, Site, Programming, Ticketing/Box Office, KidZone, Marketing, and Bar) to ensure that the volunteer numbers, roles, shift times and overall expectations are clearly outlined and met.
- Sourcing, briefing and overseeing the employment of 10 Volunteer Supervisors. This includes the preparation of contracts, schedules, and role descriptions.
- Booking venue/s for the preparation of Volunteer Briefings.

Criteria:
- Team-oriented, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Administrative skills, with ability to maintain spreadsheets and fulfil detailed administrative processes
- Experience in the arts industry, with a passion for working in events
- Experience working or liaising with volunteers is ideal
- Experience in workforce scheduling is beneficial but not essential
Remuneration:
Circa $1,400 + SGC per week. Additionally personal and annual leave pro rata, public holidays.
