Bats
The grey-headed glying-foxes in Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla are a vulnerable species and protected by law. Hot weather may cause stress to the flying-foxes, so to help keep these animals cool in very hot weather there are sprinklers in the trees.
If you see a flying-fox on the ground or in distress, do not approach it. We have staff who are properly trained and equipped to manage them. Please tell a WOMADelaide staff member who will assist. Thank you for your cooperation.
