One of Australia’s most celebrated artists returns for her first WOMADelaide performance in 30 years.
In 1995, Christine Anu was an artist on the cusp of big things, performing at the third edition of WOMADelaide, a festival also finding its feet in the Australian music landscape. Three decades later, Anu is a multi-ARIA Award winning artist, having performed on the world stage at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, in acclaimed stage productions including Rent and Hadestown, and appeared in major film productions such as Moulin Rouge! and The Matrix Reloaded. Her platinum-selling album Stylin’ Up made her a household name in the mid 90s, and in 2024, Anu followed up with the highly anticipated Waku – Minaral A Minalay – a deeply personal and culturally significant body of work that honours family, language, and heritage.
Today, Christine Anu remains a prolific and respected performer — an artist whose extraordinary live shows, timeless music, and commitment to culture continue to inspire audiences throughout the country and beyond. Joined by a full live band and backing vocalists, Anu’s 2027 WOMADelaide performance will be an energetic return to form.
