Never mind the bollocks, here’s the Seppuku Pistols.
Like all great punk outfits Seppuku Pistols were formed to rail against societal limitations. After the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and Fukushima nuclear incident, an early iteration of the band had to rethink their setup due to a lack of electricity, picking up traditional 17th to 19th century Edo period instruments including the shamisen, taiko drum, shakuhachi and bamboo flutes instead of electric guitars. Now they’d say they are “drop out punks”, and although they continue to carry a rebellious spirit, and a frenetic live energy reminiscent of heavy Western bands they’d rather not put a label on it. Capturing the imaginations of audiences around the world, from Times Square in New York to WOMAD in the UK, get ready for riotous performances and to completely let loose!
