Like a cold fog rolling in from the sea, The Haar’s music reaches you. A wave born from ancient oceans with a refreshing splash of the contemporary.
An Anglo-Irish quartet, The Haar are a collaboration of four exceptional musicians at the forefront of contemporary folk: Irish singer Molly Donnery, accordionist Murray Grainger, percussionist Cormac Byrne and violinist Adam Summerhayes. With a deep trust in the many musical accomplishments of each other, the quartet transforms familiar material into something expansive, cinematic and entirely their own.
A chance meeting and an impromptu performance at the Craiceann Bodhrán Festival spelled kismet and chemistry, leading to three acclaimed albums and a loyal grassroots following. Washing up on our shores for their WOMADelaide debut this March, The Haar are ready to win you over.
