Known as the Fresh Prince of Arnhem Land after the success of his breakout 2017 single ‘Cloud 9’, proud Yolgnu man Baker Boy has surely now earned the title of king. Danzal Baker OAM continues to captivate the global music scene with his hip-hop beats, infectious optimism, passion for music and dance, and deep connections to his cultural roots, singing in Yolngu, Buraurra and English. He won five ARIA awards, including Album of the Year, for his debut Gela, and was Young Australian of the Year in 2019. He says his latest album DJANDJAY is his “most powerful work yet… This album is about strength, truth, and stepping into who I really am. I really poured everything I got into this album.” A recipient of multiple National Indigenous Music Awards and a festival favourite, Baker Boy has performed at the AFL Grand Final, the closing ceremony of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and the AUSSIE BBQ SummerStage in NYC.
