Clare Peddie is rare in the media landscape because she studied science at university before science journalism, and worked in research organisations before newsrooms. After 15 years as Science and Environment Writer at The Advertiser in Adelaide (2006-22), she joined The Conversation as Environment and Energy deputy editor last year. Previously, she worked at CSIRO Land and Water at Urrbrae, UniSA at Mawson Lakes, and the Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Brisbane. She's a foodie and festival junkie who fell in love with Womadelaide way back in 1995 and has been hanging around ever since.
