With diverse life experiences across the North, the rangelands and East of Australia, from a childhood in remote what is now Kakadu, Darwin, Townsville and Canberra, Kate Andrews brings a diversity of experience to her passion for integrated Natural Resource Management. Her PhD explored the history and cycles of attempted cropping in Northern Australia to understand our lack of learning in the face of complex systems. Currently CEO for NRM (natural resource management) Regions Australia, the peak body for Australia’s 54 regional NRM organisations Kate also lectures with ANU’s Fenner School for Environment and Society on participatory resource management.
